Research and Writing Attorney
The Office of the Federal Defender for the District of Nevada is accepting applications for a Research and Writing Attorney position. This is a full time position based in the Las Vegas office. The Trial Unit represents indigent persons charged in the United States District Court. The primary responsibilities is the research and writing of pre-trial, trial and post-trial motions together with appellate briefs and sentencing memoranda for the full range of federal criminal offenses, including violent, white collar, and immigration crimes. This position requires excellent research and writing skills; experience in computer-assisted legal research; word processing capability; time management skills and the ability to understand and manage complex factual and legal issues. Applicant must be team oriented, have at least three years relevant experience and be immediately able to assist in complex federal criminal litigation. Applicant must be in good standing of a state bar. Federal salary and benefits are based upon qualifications and experience, consistent with federal guidelines and regulations.
