Responsible for performing legal secretarial duties which may include, but are not limited to, transcribing, preparing & processing pleadings/ briefs in the various state & fed. courts; preparing/processing correspondence, contracts, ordinances, resolutions, City Council memoranda & other legal documents & instruments; maintaining calendars for attorneys; answering telephones & contacting other offices to provide, obtain and/or coordinate information and/or appearances; perform office filing; as well as organizing & maintaining a wide variety of information & materials in support of attorneys. Knowledge of legal procedures & court rules (federal & state) is highly desirable. Position involves a variety of legal matters w/emphasis on civil litigation. Position will be open until filled.
