The Federal Public Defender is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Computer Systems Administrator to be stationed in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Assistant Computer Systems Administrator provides technical support, user support, and training for computer operations in the office of the Federal Public Defender. System applications include PC-based word processing, case management, financial management, networking, document management and data communication functions. The ACSA will also provide support for a branch office in Reno, Nevada. Some travel is required. Applicants must be, at a minimum, a high school graduate or equivalent. Applicants must have at least three years of specialized experience with networking and PC hardware/software. A bachelor's or advanced degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Management Information Systems or Computer Science, experience with automated litigation support tools and law-office automation are desirable. Position requires excellent troubleshooting and communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience working with database management software, (i.e., CaseMap, Summation, Concordance) helpful, as well as an understanding of Windows Server and Active Directory. Knowledge of the various aspects of litigation support dealing with courtroom presentations, including but not limited to, the use of courtroom presentation software, timeline and diagraming applications, and ability to set-up and operate audio/video equipment is a plus. All education, experience, training and certifications will be verified. Additional requirements include the ability to work flexible hours. The individual must also frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Applicant must be a United States citizen or eligible to work in the United States.
