SEC Associate Regional Director for Enforcement
The San Francisco Regional Office of the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission has an opening for Associate Regional Director (Enforcement). The Associate Regional Director leads the Enforcement Program for the San Francisco Regional Office; manages investigating and litigating possible and alleged violations of the federal securities laws; plans and establishes policy for the office’s Enforcement Program and supervises the professionals and supervisors in the Enforcement Program. Preferred candidates should have at least four years of post J.D. experience as a practicing attorney, three years of which include applying knowledge and experience interpreting federal securities laws & conducting civil litigation. The State Bar of California is an administrative arm of the California Supreme Court charged with protecting the public and seeking to improve the justice system for over 85 years.
The State Bar of California has an immediate Executive staff opening in its Office of The Chief Trial Counsel in San Francisco. Reporting to the Chief Trial Counsel, the selected candidate will manage and lead a litigation team charged with the investigation and prosecution of attorney disciplinary matters before The State Bar Court and other jurisdictional venues. The office seeks an experienced and successful candidate committed to public protection, enforcement of the profession, and carrying out the objectives and mission of the office. This is a unique opportunity for an exceptional prosecutorial leader in an enforcement unit for the nation's largest State Bar.
To be eligible, candidates must be active members in good standing in The State Bar of California with NO history of disciplinary offenses as attorneys in any jurisdiction. Applicants must possess three (3) years of legal management leadership experience including litigation management, personnel administration, and budgeting finances AND a minimum seven (7) years progressively responsible active experience in the practice of law, including prosecutorial or similar experience in administrative agency proceedings. This position entails managing staff in a union environment.
Compensation & Benefits: Executive Staff position, salary range $112,666 - $165,823. The position is based in San Francisco. Benefits are determined by the State Bar's Rules & Regulations Pertaining to the Employment of Executive Staff. The position is eligible for California Public Employee Retirement System ("PERS") membership.
