Jan Crawford is CBS News Chief Legal Correspondent and contributes regularly to the “CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley,” “CBS This Morning,” and “Face The Nation,” as well as CBS Radio News and CBSNews.com.

Crawford joined CBS News in October 2009. She had been a regular contributor to CBS News in 2005 to 2006.

Crawford is a recognized authority on the Supreme Court whose 2007 book, “Supreme Conflict: The Inside Story of the Struggle for the Control of the United States Supreme Court” (Penguin Press), gained critical acclaim and became an instant New York Times Bestseller. She began covering the Court in 1994 for the Chicago Tribune and went on to become a law and political correspondent for all ABC News programs, a Supreme Court analyst for The NewsHour With Jim Lehrer on PBS and a legal analyst for the CBS News broadcasts the “CBS Evening News” and “Face The Nation.” She has reported on most of the major judicial appointments and confirmation hearings of the past 15 years and amassed crucial sources in the White House, the Justice Department and Congress along the way.

Christopher Bissonnette is currently the Acting Assistant General Counsel for Regulatory Law for Southern California Gas Company.  Prior this role, Mr. Bissonnette was the Senior Counsel for Labor and Employment for Sempra Energy.  Sempra is a Fortune 500 company, based in San Diego, California.  Sempra is the parent company to Southern California Gas Company, San Diego Gas & Electric, U.S. Gas and Power, and Sempra International.  With 17,000 employees worldwide, the Sempra Energy companies develop energy infrastructure, operate utilities, and provide related products and services to more than 29 million consumers worldwide.  Mr. Bissonnette represents all Sempra companies in various state and federal labor and employment matters.

Maria is a frequent public speaker, including an annual presentation to the Association of Corporate Counsel in Los Angeles and Orange County and several large human resources organizations.  Maria is a committed community member, including serving as President of the Global Harvard Law School Women’s Alliance, Board Member for the Association of Business Trial Lawyers and the Orange County Bar Foundation, and pro-bono counsel to non-profits.  Maria is a graduate of Harvard Law School and was a full-scholarship varsity tennis player at the University of Kansas where she was named NCAA Woman of the Year.

For over 30 years, Dr. Janet R. Thornton has prepared analyses of the outcomes of a variety of labor practices, including selection, termination, and compensation, and how they relate to allegations of gender, race, ethnicity, religious, and age discrimination.  She has extensive experience in conducting statistical analyses of the various elements of compensation to determine whether similarly situated demographic group members are similarly paid.  She frequently assists organizations in responding to allegations of pay discrimination brought by the OFCCP, EEOC, and Plaintiffs, and has provided expert testimony in federal and state court regarding these allegations.  In addition, she has conducted numerous compensation audits for employers seeking to proactively determine if there are potential pay disparities in base and incentive compensation, as well as to assist in settlement negotiations.

Dr. Thornton has been an adjunct professor of quantitative methods and statistics at The Florida State University.  She has published in the Journal of Legal Economics and the Journal of Forensic Economics, and co-authored a chapter in the anthology Developments in Litigation Economics

James D. Vaughn, a Managing Director of iDiscovery Solutions (iDS), is a court-recognized expert who has given testimony in nearly 70 cases involving topics such as evidence preservation, documentation of events, and computer forensic methodologies and procedures.  In addition to being an EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE), Mr. Vaughn is certified by the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists (IACIS) as a Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE).

Mr. Vaughn has trained hundreds of law enforcement officers, attorneys, and other examiners on computer forensics and high-technology related issues involving best practices and methodologies.

Mr. Vaughn’s matters have widely varied and span across diverse areas such as misappropriation of trade secrets, intellectual property issues, contract disputes, fraud investigations, alleged hacking, and employment disputes, among others.  He has served clients on the plaintiff side, the defendant side, and has served as a third party neutral on several occasions.
