Nearly two-thirds of all Americans can't name a single U.S. Supreme Court Justice. But when respondents to the recent Thomson Reuters (FindLaw.com
) survey were broken down by geographic region, the West trended nominally better than the nation as a whole in its knowledge of the justices. Westerners were also notably more aware of the existence of Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan than the rest of the country. Only 1 percent of the Westerners surveyed were able to correctly name all nine sitting justices.
